Dr. Ned Sahin is an award-winning neuroscientist and businessman. He currently serves as Founder & CEO of Brain Power LLC, and founding boardmember of The Empowered Brain Institute. He holds degrees in neuroscience from Williams College (BA), MIT (Master’s), and Harvard (PhD), and completed post-doctoral fellowships at UCSD Medical School and the Salk Institute in San Diego. His academic work has been published in journals such as Science and Nature Neuroscience, and he has been invited and presented his research in dozens of cities across twelve countries.
Rafiq Abdus-Sabur, President and CEO of The Empowered Brain Institute, began his career in the non-profit sector as a Fellow at the National League of Cities advocating for policies impacting youth, education and families at the municipal level. Since then, he has served as a teacher, coach, administrator, and consultant for schools and school districts in Massachusetts, New York, and California. His more recent work includes founding and running several tech startups involved in establishing equity in educational and workplace environments. He attended Howard University as an undergraduate and Harvard University as a graduate student where he received a Master’s degree in Cognitive Development and Education.
